The San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band performs Cows, Corn, and Music: A Celebration of the Heartlands, the second concert of it's 2009 Community Concert Series.Cows, Corn, and Music presents American band music of the twentieth century. The concert features the music of famous band composers, Robert Russell Bennett, Elmer Bernstein, and George Gershwin.

Cows, Corn, and Music is the second installment of the 2009 Community Concert Series of the San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band, the first openly GLBTIQQ music organization in the world and the Official Band of the City of San Francisco. The San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band is proud to be sponsored in part by a grant from the Grants for the Arts / San Francisco Hotel Tax Fund.

Transit Information

MUNI Bus lines 36, 44, 52 from Forest Hill MUNI Metro Station (K ,L, M, T) to Portola & Woodside (a two minute uphill ride); or, 44 & 52 from Glen Park BART to same intersection (ten minutes very uphill ride). The church, painted purple, is adjacent to the corner three-story condo building. Also, bus line 48 from the Mission via 24th Street goes to Portola & Woodside as well. The 43 bus from Forest Hill Metro Station goes to Laguna Honda & Portola, a long block west of the Church.
